Romania-based Metinvest Tubular Iași has continued to integrate into the operations of Metinvest Group, increasing production volumes and strengthening cooperation with other group assets in the first four months since joining the company. Ukraine-based Zaporizhstal steel mill, which belongs to Metinvest, has announced thata key role in the integration process has been played by itself, which is now fully covering the Romanian plant’s demand for hot rolled coil.
Since the beginning of 2026, more than 28,000 mt of structural-grade steel products have been shipped from Zaporizhstal to Metinvest Tubular Iași.
Material used for pipe production in key sectors
The supplied hot rolled coil is used for the production of round, square and rectangular welded pipes that meet European standards. These pipes are applied in sectors including construction, energy and geothermal engineering.
According to the company, the integration and cooperation between assets within Metinvest Group are helping to strengthen its position in the European market. At the same time, the coordination supports stable utilization of Ukrainian production capacities.
