Metinvest to use imported coking coal

It has been reported that the Ukrainian Metinvest Holding - a company which performs strategic management of System Capital Management's steel and iron ore enterprises - intends to start importing coking coal from USA and Australia.

The volumes of imports in question are estimated at 4-6 million metric tons a year.

The main reason behind this decision is the low quality of Ukrainian domestic coking coal (in particular its high content of sulfur).
