Metinvest plans to supply iron ore to Turkey

The Ukrainian mining and metals business group Metinvest Holding is planning to supply iron ore to Turkish steel producer Erdemir, Alexander Vilkul, honorary president of Metinvest's iron ore producing subsidiaries Central and Severniy GOKs, has disclosed.

In total, in 2008 Metinvest is planning to increase its iron ore exports by 20 percent year on year to five million metric tons. The key export markets for the company are the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to the European destinations, Metinvest is planning to export about two million metric tons of iron ore to Chinese companies in 2008.
