Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest has reported that its mining subsidiary Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing plant (MGOK) has completed reconstruction of the main conveyor M1 at its crushing and processing plant as part of Metalloinvest's modernization program. Following the reconstruction, the conveyor's transport capacity has increased from 2,900 mt per hour to 5,000 mt per hour.

At present, the transportation of the entire volume of crude ore from the large crushing unit to the intermediate and fine crushing section at Mikhailovsky GOK is done by two conveyor circuits: К1-М1-М23-О2 and К2-М2-М11-О1. In 2012, the transport capacity of the main conveyor belt K1 in the first conveyor circuit was increased to 5,000 mt per hour.

The next stage of the modernization program envisages reconstruction of the conveyors M23 and O2. Subsequently, the company will proceed with the reconstruction of the second conveyor circuit: K2-M2-M11-O1.
