Liuzhou Steel to invest RMB 600 million in iron ore logistics hub

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region-based Chinese steelmaker Liuzhou Iron and Steel Co. (Liuzhou Steel) has announced that it will invest RMB 600 million ($97 million) in building up an iron ore logistics hub to improve the efficiency of its logistics and to lower dust pollution levels amid China's stricter environmental protection measures. In addition, the company indicated that from 2006 up to the present it has invested RMB 5.5 billion in management in waste gases, waste water and waste residues.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in 2014 Liuzhou Steel produced 10.90 million mt of pig iron, 11.39 million mt of crude steel and 5.45 million mt of finished steel.
