LISCO runs 800,000 mt capacity stainless mill in China

SteelOrbis Shanghai Lianzhong Stainless Steel Corp (LISCO), a Taiwanese-invested stainless steel mill in Southern China's Guangzhou province, has started trial runs at its new 800,000 mt hot rolled stainless steel capacity mill. The company had begun operations at its other hot rolled stainless steel mill with 600,000 mt rolling capacity in August. With the new mill, the total stainless steel capacity of the plant has neared 1.5 million mt. Meanwhile, the company has a 300,000 mt cold rolled stainless steel production capacity and is a candidate to become one of the largest stainless steelmakers in China. The total investment spent on the cold and hot rolled stainless steel production lines of the plant amounts to RMB 790 million ($102 million).
