Libya’s state-owned steelmaker Libya Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) has resumed rebar exports after receiving approval from the Ministry of Economy due to a surplus of production, according to local media sources.

The company made its first export shipments to Egypt and Algeria last Wednesday, March 6, consisting of 10,000 mt of rebar, with other potential exports being negotiated with a number of other countries.

The Libya Herald recalled that LISCO increased its production capacity last year and has been cleared to export 150,000 mt by the Ministry of Economy.
