In Turkey, official dollar-based rebar offers and workable prices from mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including İçdaş, have remained stable at $595-615/mt ex-works and $590-610/mt ex-works, respectively, as compared to May 7. One Izmir-based mill has set its official rebar price at TRY 32,200/mt ($592/mt) ex-works today, May 11, down by TRY 300/mt($7/mt) over the same period.
An Iskenderun region-based mill set its official rebar price today at TRY 32,000/mt ($588/mt) ex-works, also down by TRY 300/mt ($7/mt) amid sluggish demand, compared to May 7. Sources report that several Iskenderun-based rolling mills have set their rebar prices today, for serious buyers and cash payment, at TRY 31,800-32,000/mt ($584-588/mt) ex-warehouse, with a decrease in Turkish liras of TRY 100/mt ($3-4/mt) over the same period.
Currently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market in Turkey are in the range of TRY 32,000-32,800/mt ($588-602/mt) ex-warehouse, up by TRY 100/mt in the local currency, while remaining stable on US dollar basis, compared to May 7.
One Samsun-based mill has extended the closure of its rebar sales until Monday, May 18.
