Koks, one of Russia's largest producers of metallurgical coke and affiliate of Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH), has started production tests and preparatory works at its new coke battery No. 3.

The construction works at the new coke battery have been going on over the last two years, costing Koks about Ruble 3.2 billion ($124 million).

With a production capacity of 850,000 metric tons of coke per year, the new coke battery No. 3 will allow Koks to produce about three million metric tons of coke annually and therefore fully satisfy the coke needs of other IMH companies (in particular Tulachermet).
