Kazakhstan's steel output falls in the first two months

Kazakhstan National Statistic Agency disclosed that the country's crude steel production fell 11.5 percent year on year to 603,651 tons in January-February 2006 period. The production of flat products decreased 12.9 percent year on year to 453,363 tons, including 20,766 tons of sheets, down 44.6 percent. The output of galvanized steel, on the other hand, rose 6.3 percent to 95,583 tons. Ferroalloy production grew 7 percent year on year to 267,609 tons in the first two months. However, ferroalloy exports fell 6.1 percent year on year to 80,900 tons in January.
