Kazakhstan to build new steel mill

Kazakhstan-based company TOO Kambarata-2006 and Swiss company Vinterio UKMT have signed an agreement for the construction of a new mill in the city of Taraze in Kazakhstan's Zhambilsk region.

The new mill, the construction of which is expected to start in February-March 2008, will have an annual production capacity of 1.5 million metric tons of steel. 

The mill is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2009.

The investment in the mill totals around €1.1 million.
