Kazakhstan has commissioned a new pipe plant called Petropavlovsk Pipe Plant in the North Kazakhstan region with a designed production capacity of 120,000 mt per year.

Petropavlovsk Pipe Plant will mainly produce water and gas supply pipes for construction and housing. In particular, the plant will output round steel pipes of 102-219 mm diameter and 4-6 mm thickness, and square steel pipes in sizes of 80 x 80 mm and 100 x 100 mm. The products will be sold in Kazakhstan's domestic market and in CIS countries.

Initially, Petropavlovsk Pipe Plant will operate at a capacity of 36,000 mt of pipes per year, and over a three-year period is expected to reach its designed annual capacity of 120,000 mt and to expand its product range.

The construction of Petropavlovsk Pipe Plant was carried out by the North Kazakhstan region within the implementation of its strategy for industrial and innovative development. Investments in the new pipe plant project amounted to a total of Tenge 800 million (approx. $5.31 million), with the equipment accounting for about $2.4 million.
