Kazakhstan posts decline in steel output

Kazakh State Statistics Office disclosed that the country's steel production fell 17.1 percent year on year to 4.45 million metric tons in 2005. Production of flat rolled steel products dropped 20.9 percent year on year to 3.2 million metric tons during the same period. On the other hand, ferroalloy production rose 5.7 percent year on year to 1.53 million metric tons.
