Kazakhstan issues January 2009 production data

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in the first month of 2009 the country registered an 18.3 percent decrease in its crude steel production, a 9.4 percent decrease in its production of flat rolled steel, and a 45.6 percent decrease in its ferroalloys production, all compared to the data for January 2008.
 
The respective figures in metric tons were 267,970, 230,586, and 80,354.
