Kazakhstan extends export ban on scrap for six months

The Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced that it has extended its ban on exports of waste and scrap of ferrous metals for a period of six months starting from August 1. 
 
According to the ministry, the prohibition does not cover the exports of waste and scrap of stainless steel.
 
In 2013, the government of Kazakhstan introduced a ban on the export of scrap metal and extended it in August 2015 for six months.
