Kardemir starts production of deformed wire rod

Having previously started production of the thickest wire rods in Turkey with diameters of 52 mm and 56 mm for the machine manufacturing sector, Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has announced that it has started producing deformed wire rod at the same mill which has a flexible structure and is able to produce different type of products.

Kardemir stated, “Deformed wire rod is widely used in the construction sector, especially in bored pile production, and in several applications, while it is produced by a limited number of firms in Turkey.” By producing this new product, Kardemir aims to focus on the export markets, while also meeting domestic market needs.
