Kanishk Steel to market through regional consortiums

Kanishk Steel Industries Ltd., a thermo mechanically treated (TMT) bar and structural steel producer located in Chennai, India, announced the formation of an exclusive steel consortium in order to market its products in India's Tamil Nadu state. Kanishk Steel mainly produces joists, channels, angles, flats, squares and rounds. The consortium consists of four main dealers – Indian Steel, Union Steel, Raja Steel and Jaysons Steel. Kanishk Steel also markets TMT bars to the nearby states of Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and is currently looking for ways to build similar a distribution model in those states. In related news, Kanishk Steel recently set up a Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant in Tamil Nadu in order to provide raw materials for the production of high quality TMT bars.
