Jiuquan Steel commissions iron ore beneficiation plant

Gansu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group launched production operations at its new iron ore beneficiation plant on December 5, as announced by Beijing-based stated-owned China Metallurgical Group (MCC). China MCC17 Group, a subsidiary of MCC, was responsible for construction of main facilities, equipment installation and testing.

Construction work on the project commenced at the end of September 2011. The iron ore beneficiation plant will annually process 4 million mt of iron ore, producing an estimated 1.885 million mt of iron ore with 53.47 percent iron content.
