Jinxi Steel Group subsidiaries indicate good Q1 output performances

According to Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jinxi Iron and Steel Group, four of its subsidiaries, namely, Jinxi Steel Stock Co., Zhengda Iron and Steel Co., Wan Tong Ductile Iron Pipe. Co., and Foshan Jinxi Jinlan Cold Rolled Sheet Co., indicated good production performances in Q1, achieving their targeted output volumes.
 
In Q1 2012, Jinxi Steel Stock Co.'s outputs of pig iron, steel billet and steel strip exceeded the targeted volumes by 3.23 percent, 4.37 percent and 3.66 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, in the first quarter it also produced chromium alloy section steel and high strength channel bar of thin specification.
 
In January-March, Jinxi Zhengda Steel's outputs of pig iron, steel billet and steel strip exceeded the targets by 4.6 percent, 2.2 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively.
 
As for Jinxi Wan Tong Ductile Iron Pipe, as of March 26, its outputs of sinter, pig iron and steel billets in the first quarter exceeded the targets by 20.1 percent, 8.92 percent and 5.3 percent, respectively.  
 
Meanwhile, in the first quarter, Jinxi Jinlan Cold Rolled Sheet produced a total of 148,000 mt of cold rolled sheet, galvanized sheet and pre-painted plate, five percent higher than the targeted volume.
