Japan's JFE Steel and China's Guangdong Province-based steelmaker Guangzhou Steel Group have announced that they are to construct a cold rolling line through their joint venture Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co. Ltd.

Guangzhou JFE currently has a HDG production line with an annual output of 400,000 mt. Considering the growing demand for high-grade sheet for the production of automobiles and household appliances, JFE Steel has decided to expand the production capability of Guangzhou JFE Steel Sheet Co. Ltd. The new cold rolling production line will include manufacturing equipment for cold rolled sheet, continuous annealing equipment, as well as a second manufacturing equipment for HDG sheet, with annual capacities of 1.8 million mt, 1 million mt, 400,000 mt respectively.
