Japan's CR steel strip shipments up 14.7% in September from August

In September this year, Japan's cold rolled sheet and strip shipments increased by 14.7 percent compared to the previous month and declined by 4.1 percent on year-on-year basis, amounting to 539,000 metric tons. 51 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 49 percent were made to the export markets, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data. 
 
Meanwhile, in September, Japan's CR sheet and strip inventories increased by two percent from the previous month to 724,000 metric tons and were up 3.7 percent year on year. 73.5 percent of inventories were held by steel manufacturers, while 26.5 percent were held by steel traders.
 
In the given month, Japan's CR sheet and strip production amounted to 510,000 mt, up two percent month on month and decreasing 1.7 percent year on year.
