According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 280,627 metric tons in June this year, rising by 8.53 percent month on month and up 59.88 percent compared to June 2010.
In June, Japan's cold rolled steel exports to China remained unchanged from May at 96,610 metric tons, while a rise of 40.18 percent was registered compared to June 2010. South Korea imported 26,286 mt of cold rolled steel from Japan in June this year, up 130 percent month on month and up 155 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the January-June period of 2011, Japan's cold rolled steel exports amounted to 1.56 million metric tons, increasing by 47.42 percent year on year.
In the first half of this year, Japanese cold rolled steel exports to China totaled 590,447 metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 98,558 metric tons, increasing by 42.33 percent and up 116.92 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
