According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel coil and sheet exports totaled 306,513 metric tons in August this year, rising by 10.7 percent month on month and down 9.6 percent compared to August 2011.
In the first eight months of the current year, Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 17.5 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, amounting to 2.2 million mt.
In the first eight months, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 726,018 metric tons, down 16.1 percent compared to January-August 2011, while exports to Thailand amounted to 277,445 metric tons, falling 15.7 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
