Japan’s cold rolled steel exports falls in October

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel coil and sheet exports totaled 243,060 metric tons in October this year, falling by 8.8 percent month on month and down 13.8 percent compared to October 2011.

In the first 10 months of the current year, Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 16.6 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 2.7 million mt.

In the first 10 months, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 888,000 metric tons, decreasing 30 percent compared to January-October 2011, while exports to Thailand amounted to 338,288 metric tons, falling 15.4 percent compared to the same period of 2011. Japan's cold rolled steel exports to Indonesia in January-October amounted to 334,245 mt, down 6.3 percent year on year.
