Japan’s cold rolled steel exports down five percent in Jan-Nov

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 272,829 metric tons in November this year, falling by 3.2 percent month on month and down 14.4 percent compared to November 2010.

In November, Japan's cold rolled steel exports to China fell by 2.45 percent compared to the previous month to 96,685 metric tons, while a decline of 15 percent was registered compared to November 2010. South Korea imported 13,316 mt of cold rolled steel from Japan in November this year, down 25 percent month on month and 23.7 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-November period of 2011, Japan's cold rolled steel exports amounted to 3.5 million metric tons, decreasing by five percent year on year.
 
In the first 11 months of this year, Japanese cold rolled steel exports to China totaled 1.17 million metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 206,837 metric tons, decreasing by 8.2 percent and up 33.5 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
