Japan’s cold rolled steel exports down 16.9 percent in Jan-Sept

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel coil and sheet exports totaled 266,560 metric tons in September this year, falling by 13 percent month on month and down 11.7 percent compared to September 2011.

In the first nine months of the current year, Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 16.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 2.46 million mt.

In the first nine months, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 817,979 metric tons, down 16 percent compared to January-September 2011, while Japan's exports to Thailand amounted to 311,853 metric tons, falling 14.4 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
