According to the statistics released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in January this year Italy's steel imports amounted to 1.063 million metric tons, decreasing by 32.5 percent, while its steel exports totaled 1.387 million metric tons, up 10.9 percent, both compared to the same month of the previous year.
