According to ANFIA, the Italian automotive industry association, in November this year new passenger vehicle registrations in Italy amounted to 132,579 units, decreasing by 9.2 percent year on year. In November 2010, new registrations had already fallen by 20.6 percent year on year.

In the first 11 months of the current year, new passenger vehicle registrations in Italy reached 1,636,299 units, down 10.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

ANFIA president Eugenio Razelli commented, "November sales are the lowest recorded in the month since 1996, when new registrations were less than 130,000. We cannot hope for any immediate solution to the current auto market crisis in this context, as our country is overloaded by economic uncertainties, as is the whole euro zone."
