Italy’s new auto registrations down 10.7 percent in July

In July this year, the Italian auto market saw 137,442 new registrations, down 18.59 percent month on month and down 10.7 percent year on year. In July 2011, new registrations of vehicles made by Italian carmakers amounted to 41,096 units, decreasing by 18.94 percent compared to June and by 9.31 percent compared to July 2010.

In the first seven months of 2011, in Italy new vehicle registrations dipped by 12.74 percent year on year to 1,151,146 units. Meanwhile, the overall figure was pulled down by fewer new registrations of Italian-made vehicles, which were down by 16.89 percent year on year to 339,994 units.
