Italy’s Marcegaglia to supply steel to world’s largest concentrating solar plant

Italy-based steelmaker Marcegaglia Specialties has announced that it will contribute to the construction of the largest single-site concentrating solar power plant in the world, the Noor Energy 1 Project, the fourth phase of development of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai.

Marcegaglia will be supplying 6,000 mt of stainless steel tubes for the project which costs $3.9 billion, by collaborating with Italian steelmaker Metaltubi. When completed, the project will provide clean energy for over 320,000 homes in Dubai while reducing carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons per year.
