Italian steel producer Galperti Special Alloys S.p.A. has selected Italian plantmaker Danieli Technologies to supply two key units for its specialty alloys production route in Italy. The contract covers an 8-ton vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnace and a 10-ton electro-slag remelting (ESR) furnace, both designed to support the production of high-quality specialty and heat-resistant grades.

The 8-ton VIM furnace will provide controlled melting under vacuum conditions. This will allow Galperti Special Alloys to manage chemical composition with a high level of precision while supporting improved steel cleanliness.

According to the announcement, the VIM unit will support a broad portfolio of specialty and heat-resistant grades, making it a key part of the company’s advanced alloy production route. Startup is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
