Italy’s crude steel output up eight percent in Q1

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in March this year Italian crude steel output rose by 8.6 percent year on year, reaching 2.58 million metric tons. Total crude steel output in Q1 rose by eight percent year on year to 6.96 million metric tons.
 
Federacciai has also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for February of the current year. Accordingly, in February Italy's long steel output was up 3.8 percent year on year to 1.11 million metric tons. On the other hand, in the same month the country's flat steel output reached 1.28 million metric tons, increasing by 23.1 percent year on year.
