Italy’s crude steel output climbs 15.2 percent in June

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in June this year Italian crude steel output rose by 15.2 percent year on year, reaching 2.61 million metric tons. Italian mills produced 14.69 million metric tons of crude steel in the first six months of 2011, up 9.4 percent compared to the same period of 2010.

Federacciai also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for May this year. Accordingly, in May Italy's long steel output was up 8.3 percent year on year to 1.12 million metric tons, while the country's flat steel output amounted to 1.31 million metric tons, increasing by 5.4 percent year on year.
