According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in July this year Italian industry increased its turnover by 1.6 percent month on month and by 7.7 percent year on year.
In July, on month-on-month basis, the seasonally-adjusted turnover index in Italy increased by 3.1 percent for capital goods, 2.2 percent for intermediate goods and 0.7 percent for consumer goods. Among consumer goods, durable goods increased by 1.1 percent, while the turnover index for non-durable goods increased by 0.6 percent. A decrease of 1.4 percent was registered for energy sector.
Compared to July 2010, the strongest performances in Italian industry in July this year were observed in vehicles production, up 26.4 percent.
With regard to total orders for Italian industry, in July this year there was a month-on-month increase of 1.8 percent and a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent. The strongest performances were observed again in vehicles production, up 39.1 percent
