According to the figures posted by ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in July this year Italian industrial production fell by 0.7 percent month on month and by 1.6 percent year on year.
In the period in question, capital goods production in Italy was up 4.8 percent year on year, while intermediate goods, consumer goods and energy dropped by 1.4 percent, 7.0 percent and 4.5 percent respectively.
