On June 21, Turkey's largest steelmaking group Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (Erdemir) announced that its Iskenderun-based subsidiary Iskenderun Demir ve Celik A.S. (Isdemir) has decided to implement its recent lockout decision on June 30.

This decision has been made upon the decision of Celik-Is Union to carry out strike action on June 30. The strike decision was made on May 30 during the collective labor agreement negotiations carried out between Celik-Is Union and Isdemir management. Talks between the parties are still in progress.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, Isdemir decided on a lockout in response to the labor union's strike decision.
