Iscor hikes prices of flat products

With a recent statement, South African steel producer Iscor announced that it has increased prices of its flat products by 7-15% to be in effect as of May or June 2004. An official from Iscor stated that, the increase in the prices will be effected due to rise in international steel prices and strong demand, which forces availability of raw materials. However, the official added that, the new prices will be lower than the prices in other countries. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Iscor announced that it increased prices of its long products by 6% to be in effect as of April 1, 2004.
