Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland down 10.6 percent in April from March

According to the authorities at Australia's Port Hedland, in April this year iron ore shipments from the port amounted to 15.8 million mt, rising by 8.9 percent year on year and down 10.6 percent month on month.

In March, iron ore shipments from Port Hedland totaled 17.8 million mt.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Iron in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
