The Indian state of Karnataka has fined 13 local iron ore producers a total of INR 1.4 billion ($190 million) on grounds of encroachment of public areas and dumping of waste, according to Indian newspaper Business Standard.
A special committee of the local supreme court imposed the total penalty of INR 1.4 billion on the wrongdoers after its concluding its investigation into the case
