Iron ore imports from Jingtang Port totals 30.89 million mt in Jan-Sept

As of September 16, aggregate iron ore imports from Jingtang Port amounted to 30.89 million, increasing by 8.07 million mt compared to total import volume in the whole year of 2011, according to the statistics released by the government of Hebei province.
 
In the January 1-September 16 period of the year, iron ore imported from Australia accounted for 44.12 percent of the port’s total imports. Meanwhile, iron ore from India constituted 15.87 percent of the total, indicating a year-on-year decline of 34.78 percent. Iron ore supplied by other countries, such as Malaysia, South Africa and etc, totaled 6.4 million mt.
 
In the current year, besides the new importing countries, i.e. Spain, Morocco, Liberia, Mozambique and New Zealand, iron ore sources of Jingtang Port has reached 29 countries.
