Iran has already achieved an annual iron ore production output of 25 million mt, which is higher than the country's existing requirement, and the figure should reach 45 million mt by 2011, according to Iran's deputy minister of industries and mines Ahmad Ali Haratinik.
Mr. Haratink added that the iron ore output of 45 million mt targeted for 2011 will be necessary as Iran has planned to reach a crude steel capacity of 32 million mt by 2011.
