Inner Mongolia completes 4.38 million mt of outdated steelmaking capacity replacement and shutdown

The government of the Inner Mongolia region of China has announced that it has completed the capacity replacement and shutdown of 4.38 million mt of outdated steelmaking capacity and 5.62 million mt of coke capacity as of May 25 this year.

According to its plans for elimination of outdated capacity for the 2021-2025 period, Inner Mongolia plans to eliminate all restricted capacities in the steel, ferroalloy, coke and graphite electrode sectors.
