In the third quarter of the current year, industrial capacity utilization in China was at 76.5 percent, down 0.3 percentage points year on year, while in the first nine months of the year the country's industrial capacity utilization was at 76.6 percent, remaining stable year on year, accordingly to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In particular, in the third quarter of 2018 the respective capacity utilization rates of the mining industry, the coal mining and dressing industry and the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry were at 71.1 percent, 70.1 percent and 78.7 percent, up 0.1, 1.1, and 2.0 percentage points year on year, respectively, while the capacity utilization rate of the manufacturing industry and the automobile industry was 76.9 percent and 79.6 percent, down 0.4 percentage points and 2.5 percentage points year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the year, the capacity utilization rates of the mining industry, the coal mining and dressing industry and the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry were at 72.4 percent, 71.4 percent, and 78.1 percent, up 1.7, 4.0 and 2.7 percentage points year on year, respectively, while the capacity utilization rate of the automobile industry and the manufacturing industry were at 80.6 percent and 77.0 percent, down 1.1 percentage points and 0.1 percentage point, year on year.
