Indonesia’s steel import value up 2.1 percent in H1

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in June this year Indonesia's steel imports totaled $784 million in value, decreasing by 23 percent as compared to the previous month, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel decreased 25.4 percent compared to May this year, to $366 million.
 
In the first half of this year, Indonesia's steel import value came to $5.4 billion, rising by 2.1 percent year on year, while the country's import value for articles of iron and steel came to $2.6 billion, up 12.4 percent on year-on-year basis.
