India’s JSW Steel Limited scouting for coking coal assets overseas

India’s JSW Steel Limited is scouting to acquire coking coal assets overseas, industry sources said on Monday, May 29.

While the company has not officially commented on the development, industries sources said that prime coking coal assets located in Australia and Mozambique are on the radar of the Indian steel major.

JSW Steel Limited is 60 percent dependent on imported coking coal to feed its 27 million mt per year steelmaking capacity.
