According to preliminary customs information, India exported 9.22 million mt of pellets in FY 2019 that ended on March 31, 2019. India exported 6.75. million mt (73 percent) to China, 0.94 million mt (10 percent) to South Korea, 0.25 million mt (3 percent) to UK, 0.22 million mt (2 percent) to Oman, 0.21 million mt (2 percent) to Malaysia, 0.17 million mt (2 percent) to Vietnam, 0.11 million mt (1 percent) to Japan and 0.58 million mt (6 percent) to other destinations.
The largest shipper was BRPL with 2.38 million mt followed by 1.82 million mt by JSPL (20 percent), 1.52 million mt (16 percent) by KIOCL, 1.08 million mt (12 percent) by Rashmi Metaliks, 0.80 million mt (9 percent) by Bagadiya Brothers, and 1.62 million mt (18 percent) by smaller shippers.
In terms of port of export, 4.54 million mt (49 percent) of pellets were exported via Paradip port followed by Dhamra with 2.27 million mt (25 percent), Mangalore with 1.52 million mt, (16 percent) Mundra with 0.43 million mt (5 percent), Gagavaram with 0.34 million mt (4 percent), and 0.12 million mt (1 percent) via other ports.
