Indian officials are for the restriction on iron ore exports

Consultative Committee members of the Commerce and Industry Ministry announced that they are in favor of certain restrictions on iron ore exports. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Indian government announced that it planned to implement certain restrictions on iron ore exports following complaints about poor quality iron ore shipments to China. Moreover, with the new regulation, iron ore availability in the domestic market would be ensured. The Committee members announced that they are in favor of restriction on high-grade iron ore, as they believe that with certain restrictions on iron ore exports, domestic economy will revive and the utilization of precious raw materials will increase. According to the sources, the government is preparing an iron ore policy, taking the interest of domestic industry and current global market situation into consideration.
