Indian motor vehicle output up 2.25 percent in April

In April this year, Indian motor vehicle production (including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, three wheelers and two wheelers) increased by 2.25 percent year on year to 1,909,327 units, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

In the given month, passenger vehicle sales in India increased by 15.83 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the country's commercial vehicles segment registered an increase of 6.48 percent in sales, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in the fourth month of this year, India's total motor vehicle exports increased by 7.66 percent year on year. Passenger vehicle exports registered an increase of 20.87 percent, while commercial vehicle exports rose by 19.87 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
