India asks China to cut export tariff on coking coal

Speaking at the bilateral trade summit held in Beijing between India and China, Indian minister of commerce Kamal Nath asked China to reduce the export tariff which it has imposed on coking coal.

Mr. Nath told his Chinese counterpart Chen Jian that, just as India had reduced its export tariff on iron ore to only one percent at China's request, China should now reduce its current five percent export tariff on coking coal.

The Indian minister of commerce also asked the Chinese side to increase the coking coal quota for India.
