Huaigang Special Steel’s No. 1 blast furnace starts production

On July 29, the No. 1 blast furnace of Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Huaigang Special Steel, a subsidiary of Jiangsu-based major Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group, has started full production operations.

The annual molten iron output of the blast furnace, which was constructed by China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd, will total 1.75 million mt.

Construction of the blast furnace started in May 2023. All gas and slag will be fully recycled, while the furnace has high safety and environmental protection standards and is characterized by high yield, low energy consumption and longevity.
